Take a look at this sumptuous executive free-standing villa for rent by the banks of the Amstel River in Amstelveen.

Situated a little further down the river's edge from the terrace of the restaurant Klein Kalfje and the Riekermolen windmill (which dates from 1636).

Suggestions from amongst others Jan des Bouvrie were followed enthusiastically. "He advised us to build the house out from the backside and make a lazy staircase down to the garden. Via the stairs at the rear you descend from the wooden terrace down from the living room to the garden- to the left a stylish annex / studio (approx 75 m²) with bathroom and three sets of patio doors giving access to a floating terrace, and on the right hand side the same kind of terrace with a white pergola, which creates a certain symmetry and a visual unity. There is also a beautiful mirror pond, flanked on both sides by five roof tiled areas.

This casual atmosphere has also been consistently implemented in the interior. Above the solid dark American Oak floors, everything on the top two floors is bright white. Shutters and transparent folding curtains for the many windows, closets with window doors, a white, wooden kitchen with dark countertop and a Viking stove - all contributing to the nonchalant, luxurious appearance of this property.

On the top floor there is a nice workroom on two levels, with views over the fields at the rear and a large window at the front, which offers unobstructed views over the Amstel River.
